In August of 2024 the largest dinosaur FriendlyFossil has built so far was delivered. My wife and I left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa, loaded up, and headed west.
We drove west for 18 hours through Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado. Everywhere we went people were snapping photos. I imagine we were the only folks on the road that day towing a life-size metal dinosaur sculpture!
We spent our first night in Lincoln Nebraska, after checking into our hotel room we took the dinosaur to find dinner and for a drive around the University of Nebraska - Lincoln campus. It was move in day so the streets were buzzing. Go Cornhuskers!
We arrived to our destination late the next day. Finding a parking space for a 43 foot long rig was challenging, but we made it to beautiful Colorado.
Work began the next morning on final assembly and installation. The dino's owner graciously rented the equipment we needed to move the dinosaur into position.
Everything went smooth and the stegosaurus is now in its forever home to listen to the rushing waters of the creek below.
And watch the Milky Way streak by overhead.
His owners named him Stanley the Stegosaurus and I'm please to say that Stanley is home.
